As Tijuana, Mexico transformed into a progressive culinary hot spot due to its proximity to Southern California and its influences from Baja-Med, we set out to design an environment that could blend the culinary art with architectural moments equal in taste, resulting in a unique experience. This project is a casual and comfortable space for young professionals, entrepreneurs, and the well traveled to enjoy.
The project's facade was created by using a digital algorithm to transform a photograph of a herd of Oryx into a vectored path which was then perforated onto a series of metal sheets which, in doing so, established the project's exterior as its own unique design language.
To reflect the duality of program – casual and sophisticated – we created a floor transition that merges hexagonal tiles with a wood floor, whose intersection creates a perceptual line which when followed takes you into the project's speakeasy.
